Frequently asked questions about buying from LUX LAB

The questions we really get asked, with the answers we give in person: who can buy stock, what turnkey means, how production works in Prato, what we do with artificial intelligence and what we do not. If yours is not here, write to us.

Stock and B2B fashion

For shops, outlets, boutiques, stockists, wholesalers, online stores and buyers purchasing lots of designer clothing and accessories.

Who can buy LUX LAB stock?

Anyone who resells: shops, outlets, multi-brand boutiques, stockists, wholesalers, online stores and trade buyers, in Italy and abroad. Sales are reserved for businesses and professionals with an Italian or foreign VAT number. We do not sell to private consumers.

Do I need a VAT number to buy?

Yes. Stock is sold only to holders of an Italian or foreign VAT number operating as a business or professional. It is a relationship between professionals, so the right of withdrawal under the Italian Consumer Code does not apply.

How do I receive a price list or current availability?

We do not publish a fixed price list online, because stock changes all the time. Write to marketing@luxlab.it or use the contacts on the site and tell us what kind of shop you have, what you sell and the volumes you work with: you receive current availability, with prices per lot. For recurring purchases there is the VIP Area, our reserved B2B platform, activated after your VAT number is verified.

How is a lot composed, and can I choose what goes in it?

A lot comes with a defined composition: garment categories, brands included, season, size curve, with new, first-quality garments, all declared before purchase. If none of the available lots suits you, a lot can be composed to order around your requirements: tell us what you want to focus on, a category, a segment or a price range, and we build it around that request. The terms do not change: the whole lot with no minimum order, or a partial purchase with a minimum of 10,000 euro.

How do you verify that the goods are original?

Every item goes through a five-step verification protocol: labels, codes and stitching; materials; serial numbers checked against brand databases where available; photographic documentation; archiving with traceability. Every garment is declared original and delivered with an invoice. LUX LAB buys as an independent global buyer from authorised retailers and official outlets and is not affiliated with the brands it handles.

Do I receive an invoice?

Yes, always. Every sale comes with a regular invoice listing the items, issued to your VAT number. It is also the document needed for export to non-EU countries, together with the packing list and certificates of origin prepared by our logistics partner.

The goods also come with the item file: an Excel listing item code, description, colour, size, quantity and price, line by line, plus the EAN where the supplier makes it available. The file comes in Excel. On request we also give it to you as CSV, with the same content: it is the format a system reads without human intervention — a product data feed, in marketplace terms. If your management system requires a structure of its own — an XML, a precise layout — send it to us and we will tell you whether we can fill it, before the order. In the CSV the photos are lost, and a file with several sheets becomes separate files.

Where do you ship and who handles transport?

We ship from our Prato warehouse to Italy, throughout Europe, to Poland and to the United States. Transport is entrusted to STL Fashion (STL S.r.l.), LUX LAB's logistics partner specialised in luxury goods: insurance appropriate to the value, export documentation and tracking from pickup to delivery.

Can I see the goods before buying?

Before buying you receive the lot description (composition, brands, season, sizes, condition) and the photographic documentation collected during verification. If you prefer to see the goods in person, say so in your request: we will tell you whether and how that is possible for that lot.

Can I buy a single garment?

No: stock is sold by the lot, which is what makes stock prices possible. There is no fixed minimum for everyone, though: each lot has its own composition and price, and if you have a budget or volume in mind, state it in your request. Buyers who prefer to purchase part of a lot have a minimum order of €10,000. For retail purchases LUX LAB is not the right channel, because it sells only to VAT-registered businesses.

Do you also handle accessories?

Yes. Besides menswear stock and womenswear stock, LUX LAB supplies lots of high-fashion accessories: bags, footwear, small leather goods and other accessories. If you are interested in more than one line, say so in the same request: the contact person remains the same.

Turnkey space design

Shops, boutiques, bars, restaurants, offices and homes: from rendering to construction with one person in charge.

What does "turnkey" mean?

That LUX LAB takes care of every piece of a job, and you do not have to coordinate different suppliers. For a restaurant: concept, professional kitchen, lighting, custom furniture and supplies. For a boutique: design, retail concept, fit-out and, if you wish, the initial stock of designer goods. For an office: room layout, furniture, light, acoustics and finishes. One person responsible for the site and the suppliers.

Who follows the construction site?

One contact person, founder Alessandro Pintaldi, from the first meeting to handover. LUX LAB executes directly and, when needed, involves its associated structures: joinery, lighting, finishes, supplies. Even when they come into play, responsibility for the result stays with LUX LAB.

Can I have just the design, without the construction?

Yes. 3D modelling, rendering, lighting design and interior design are also services in their own right: you can ask for the design alone, with the renders to decide on, and have someone else build it. In turnkey jobs the rendering is the first step anyway: you approve the images, then the same team follows furniture, lighting and construction.

Which areas do you work in?

For construction sites and turnkey work mainly in Tuscany: Empoli, Prato, Florence. For design, furniture and fit-outs we also cover Milan, Bologna and the rest of Italy. The operating office is in Prato, the registered office in Empoli.

Can you fit out the shop and also supply the stock?

Yes, and it is one of the cases where LUX LAB's model pays off most. Anyone opening a boutique or a corner finds design, fit-out and the initial stock of designer clothing and accessories in the same relationship. Design, build and goods, one contact person.

How does the quote work?

It starts with a meeting or a request from the site, where we analyse your needs and define the objectives. The quote is free and states times and costs defined for your project, because furniture, fixtures, equipment and materials are chosen according to the space and its intended use. Then comes the 3D rendering, with which you approve the design before work starts.

Contract textile production

Knitwear and garment making in the Prato district, with LUX LAB as your single contact.

Can you produce from a drawing or from a sample garment?

Both. Send us a drawing with a technical sheet or a sample garment to replicate or adapt, together with the quantities you have in mind. The first step is the quote, then sampling. Details are on the contract clothing manufacturing page.

How long does the first sample take?

About two weeks, once the drawing or reference garment and the materials are defined. The sample is always submitted for your approval: production starts only after that.

Who carries out the work?

An associated textile company in the Prato district. LUX LAB S.r.l. has contract production and garment making in its corporate purpose, acts as representative with direction of the work, and remains the client's sole contact for sampling, production and delivery. LUX LAB is not a factory: it is the contact who directs the work on your behalf.

Where is the workshop?

In the Prato textile district, in Tuscany, where LUX LAB has its operating office. It is a complete supply chain concentrated within a few kilometres, from yarn to garment: for you it means a workshop within reach, a short supply chain and a contact who works every day among the people who produce.

Do you also produce small quantities?

Yes: small collections and own-label capsules are one of the typical cases. There is no standard minimum, though: it depends on the garment, the process and the materials, and it is defined in the quote after seeing the drawing or reference garment.

Technology and artificial intelligence

What we do with AI, what we do not ask it to do, and what happens to your data.

What does LUX LAB do with artificial intelligence?

Tools that work on real commercial data. A pricing engine that compares prices across the big luxury stores and proposes the selling price item by item; catalogues generated automatically from an Excel price list; AI agents that check prices and availability on international storefronts; assistants that answer in natural language about orders, inventory and margins; editorial automations for the blog. They are large language models (LLMs) used via API with structured prompts, or installed on the client's infrastructure.

Does AI replace human work?

No, and at LUX LAB this is a principle, not a slogan. Take 3D modelling: the foundation is extrusion, that is, starting from a two-dimensional profile and developing it along an axis to generate volume. It is the founding act of solid modelling, and AI does not do it better than a designer: you always need a person to decide the shape, the proportions and the meaning of the project. What AI does well is render faster and optimise: variations, alternatives, calculations, timing. The human stays at the centre; AI supports them, it does not replace or exile them.

What do I need to start an AI project?

A concrete problem and the data you work with today: a price list, a management system, an order archive, procedures. The first meeting is to understand where automation really saves time and to choose the execution mode, self-hosted or API. Features, times and costs are defined at the quotation stage, after analysing the project.

Does my data stay confidential?

It depends on the mode you choose, and we tell you clearly. With the self-hosted model the language model runs on your company's infrastructure, inference included: data stays in-house, no calls to the outside. With the API mode we rely on external providers' models: more reasoning capacity, but data passes to the provider under its terms. The choice depends on how sensitive the data is.

Can it be integrated with the systems I already use?

Yes, that is the normal case. Tools are built around the data you have: Excel price lists, databases, management systems, sales platforms. The assistants, for example, read the context directly from the company database and pass it to the model in the prompt; a knowledge base extends the same scheme to documents and procedures.

What are AI agents?

Programs in which a language model does not just answer, but uses tools to complete a task: search the web, read a page, compare a price, write a result. At LUX LAB they work in parallel to verify prices and availability on the storefronts of the big international stores, with checking rules on addresses and prices, so that every figure rests on a real source and not an estimate.

Do you also build websites and e-commerce?

Yes. The LUX LAB Laboratory designs and develops websites, e-commerce, marketplaces and B2B platforms, with AI integrated where it helps: pricing engine, automatic catalogues, assistants on company data. It built Maison Gavel on commission, the ZBUY marketplace and the B2B platform reserved for its own stockists and buyers.

The Laboratory: Parlora, ZBUY, Maison Gavel, NZ

The products born in the LUX LAB Laboratory and the ideas behind them.

What is Parlora?

An AI-based voice interpreter that works inside calls on Teams, Zoom and Meet. Each person speaks their own language and understands the other at the moment it is needed, without waiting for a translation afterwards. It is a LUX LAB S.r.l. product, live at parlora.ai.

Where does the name Parlora come from?

From the Italian "parlo ora", "I speak now". The whole idea is there: giving everyone the chance to understand each other at the right moment and at the moment of need, getting past the language barrier.

If English is the language of business, why is Parlora needed?

Because English has to be known, and at work it remains the common language, but everyone likes to hear their own. A negotiation, a showroom visit, a call with a buyer go better when neither side is at a disadvantage. Parlora serves two meeting grounds: social and business.

Is Parlora accessible to people who cannot hear or see?

Not today, and we prefer to say so clearly: promising accessibility that does not exist would harm precisely the people it is meant for. It is, however, the declared direction of development: making a speech accessible to those who cannot hear not only with fast text but with an avatar reproducing sign language, and to those who cannot see with connected devices that render the text on a tactile pad, through the raised dots. We will call it a feature when it is one.

What is ZBUY?

An Italian marketplace by LUX LAB S.r.l., live at zbuy.it, where the consumer side and the business side live in the same portal: online buying and selling, B2B wholesale with lots and auctions reserved for VAT-registered companies, and ZBUY Rescue, the section where you list for free the things you would throw away and whoever is interested comes to collect them in person. The name joins the Z of the NZ patent, "Nuova generazione Z" (new generation Z), with buy: a new way of buying, based on reuse. Questions about ZBUY.

What is Maison Gavel?

A private-sales and stock-management platform for luxury, built by the LUX LAB Laboratory on commission. It was born for a business that needed a digital showcase for reserved high-fashion sales, linked to its pop-up stores: the physical event is temporary, the online showcase goes with it. Questions about Maison Gavel.

What is NZ Project?

A thesis project born to break the empirical form of the classic backpack, which became a patent. NZ stands for "Nuova generazione Z", new generation Z, and the Z in ZBUY comes from there. The other projects are in the Laboratory.

Its motto is "Il lusso accessibile", accessible luxury.

Where is LUX LAB based?

Operating office at Viale Montegrappa 304, Prato: shipments leave from here and this is where daily work happens, in the textile district. Registered office at Via Jacopo Carrucci 152, Empoli (Florence). LUX LAB S.r.l., VAT 07308130488, REA FI-694496. The map.

Who do you work with?

With fashion resellers (shops, outlets, boutiques, stockists, wholesalers, online stores, buyers), with anyone opening or renovating a venue, a shop or an office (restaurateurs, retailers, companies, professional firms), with brands and designers who want to produce in Tuscany, and with companies that want custom digital or AI tools. In Italy, Europe, Poland and the United States.

How do I become a client?

Write or call us and tell us what you need. There is no admission form: for stock, a VAT number and a request with the type of shop and volumes are enough; for a project or software, a first meeting where we define objectives and a quote. For recurring stock purchases you can request access to the VIP Area, activated after your VAT number is verified.

How and when will I be contacted?

We answer requests from the site within 24 hours with a personalised quote or with the questions we need to prepare it. Email: marketing@luxlab.it. Phone: +39 342 572 3427, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00. There is one contact person, founder Alessandro Pintaldi.

Do you also sell energy or crypto-asset services?

Not directly. In these two sectors LUX LAB operates exclusively as agent and commercial representative for an authorised company: it presents the offer and puts the client in contact with the company that provides the service and with which the contract is signed. LUX LAB does not sell energy and does not provide financial, payment or exchange services.

Did not find your question?

Write or call us: one person answers, the founder, and tells you straight away whether and how we can help.
