Anyone who wants a line under their own label is not looking for a factory: they are looking for someone who turns an idea into a garment and answers for the whole process. That is what LUX LAB does, in the Prato textile district, with a single contact from the first sketch to delivery.
Private label, or contract manufacturing, means the garment carries your brand and not ours. You bring the project — a sketch, a technical sheet, a sample garment to copy or adapt — and you receive finished garments, labelled with your own name, ready for your shop or your online store.
It is the service for anyone with a capsule in mind and no supply chain of their own: designers starting a line, shops that want their own collection alongside branded stock, established brands looking for an Italyn manufacturer for a limited run.
The path is always the same, and every step closes with your approval before moving on to the next.
Your sketch becomes a working sheet: measurements, seams, finishes, materials. If you start from a sample garment, the sheet is derived from it.
From the sheet a pattern is built: the shape the fabric is cut from. This is the step that decides how the garment will hang.
The first garment is made, tried on and corrected. Usually several prototypes are made before the model is right.
The approved garment becomes the reference sample: the copy the whole production run is checked against.
The pattern is developed across every size in your range. It is not a proportional enlargement: each size has its own proportions.
Cutting, making-up, pressing, bagging. The finished garments reach you, in Italy or abroad.
Tell us which fabric you want the garment in: viscose, cotton, linen, silk, wool, knitwear. Prato is the European textile district and the chain is short — from yarn to finished garment within a few kilometres — but availability, minimums and lead times change from fabric to fabric, because they depend on the yarn and on the workshop doing the work.
That is why the fabric is one of the first things to state in your request: it is the factor that moves the quotation most. If you already have a fabric supplier, we can work with yours.
A private label garment is not finished until it carries your name. The quotation covers labels with your brand, the composition and care labels required by law, swing tags and finishing: buttons, zips, tapes, print or embroidery where needed.
If you already have a designer and a finished file, they are produced from it. If not, we define together what is needed: the mandatory labels have contents set by law, swing tags do not.
Small batches are the typical case, not the exception: capsules, short collections, own-label lines for a single shop.
There is no standard minimum that applies to everyone. The minimum order quantity — the MOQ — depends on the garment, on the work involved and above all on the fabric, because yarn is itself bought with minimums. It is set in the quotation, after we have seen the sketch or the reference garment, and you are told before you spend anything.
We say this plainly, because it is the question that matters when choosing a manufacturer. LUX LAB is not a factory and owns no machinery.
We do ourselves: take the brief, turn the project into a technical sheet, follow prototype and sample, direct production, check the result, deliver, and answer for it. The client speaks to one person, the founder Alessandro Pintaldi.
The supply chain executes: pattern, prototyping, grading, cutting, making-up, knitwear, print and embroidery, labels and swing tags. The work is carried out by an affiliated textile company in the Prato district and, where the process requires it, by specialist workshops in the chain.
The corporate purpose of LUX LAB S.r.l. covers «the production and making-up, both on its own account and for third-party clients, and the sale of garments and textile products». It acts as representative with direction of the work, and remains the client's single contact. Responsibility for the result is LUX LAB's, even when the machine belongs to someone else.
The garments are produced in the Prato district, in Tuscany. For a foreign brand that is often the main reason for looking for an Italyn manufacturer, and for an Italyn brand it is the reason not to go elsewhere: the supply chain is within a few kilometres, the workshop can be visited, and whoever directs the work lives among it.
Write to us with four things: what garment you have in mind, in which fabric, in roughly what quantity, and by when you need it. If you have a sketch or a sample garment, attach them. You receive a quotation with minimums, lead times and costs set on your project — not a price list, because a price list for a garment that does not exist yet means nothing.
