Designer clothing stock lots, wholesale from Italy

Buying stock is not buying a garment: it is buying a lot. This page sets out, in writing, how an Italian overstock lot is made up, what it costs and what comes with the goods — before you ask for a clearance list.

How a lot is made up

A standard LUX LAB lot contains about 1,500 pieces with a full size range: every model is there in the sizes a shop actually needs, not only the sizes left unsold at the end of a season. That is the difference between stock you can put on the shelf and stock you can only discount.

Lots are made up of new, first-quality garments. Every lot is described before purchase by composition and seasonality, so you can work out the ratio between the price of the lot and its retail value before deciding.

How much you save

The discount runs from 50% to 65% off the wholesale price, depending on how the lot is composed. It is not a single percentage applied across the board: it depends on what is inside, on seasonality and on the weight of the different categories. The exact price of each lot is always stated in the availability list.

What a lot is worth

Lots typically range from €50,000 to €150,000, according to their composition and the brands they contain. It is an indicative range, not a price list: every lot is its own case, and the value depends on what the market makes available at the time.

Buying the whole lot or part of it

The lot is sold whole and has no minimum order: the lot itself is the unit of sale, and that is what makes stock prices possible.

For retailers who prefer to buy part of a lot, the minimum order is €10,000.

What a lot contains

The composition depends on how the lot is built, but as a rule it contains a bit of everything:

The mix changes with every lot, because it depends on what we buy on the market at the time. That is why the availability list is sent on request rather than published: a fixed list would be out of date the next day.

Which brands a lot contains

The mix changes with every lot, because it depends on what we buy on the market at that moment. We work with two tiers.

Not every brand is in every lot, and we do not publish which ones are in stock right now: the composition of each lot is in the availability list, which is sent on request.

Made-to-measure lots

If you are interested in a particular category or type of product, the lot can be put together to your requirements rather than taken as a ready-made assortment. Tell us what you want to focus on — a single category, a segment, an end use — and we build the lot around that request.

The terms are those set out on this page: the whole lot with no minimum, or a partial purchase with a minimum order of €10,000.

If instead you are looking for something specific that does not fit into a lot, that is handled by our search on request.

What comes with the goods

Every lot travels with:

These are the documents you need to resell without argument and, for non-EU destinations, to clear customs. The Excel file is the complete list of what you have bought, line by line.

Shipping and countries served

Shipping is handled by STL Fashion (STL S.r.l.), LUX LAB's logistics partner, which acts as sub-carrier and has specific experience in transporting luxury goods. We deliver in Italy, across Europe, in Poland and in the United States. Every shipment travels with contracts and insurance appropriate to the value of the goods. For non-EU destinations we prepare the export paperwork: commercial invoice, packing list and certificates of origin. Garments are individually bagged and sealed; tracking is active from collection to delivery.

How to buy

  1. Request the list

Write to marketing@luxlab.it saying what kind of shop you have, what you sell and the volumes you work with. You receive current availability with prices per lot.

  2. Assess the lot

You receive the composition and seasonality so you can work out the ratio between price and retail value.

  3. Pro forma invoice

Once the lot is confirmed, LUX LAB issues a pro forma invoice itemising the goods and the amount.

  4. Payment and invoice

You pay according to the terms set out in the pro forma; once payment is received, LUX LAB issues the invoice and the goods leave.

Frequently asked questions

How many pieces does a lot contain?

About 1,500, with a full size range. The exact number is stated in the description of each individual lot.

How is the 50% to 65% discount calculated?

It is calculated on the wholesale price and depends on the composition: seasonality and the categories included. The final price of the lot is always stated in the list.

Why is the value range so wide?

Because a lot is not a catalogue product: €50,000 and €150,000 are the range they usually fall within, but the composition and the brands included change every time.

Can I buy only part of a lot?

Yes, with a minimum order of €10,000. The whole lot has no minimum, because the lot itself is the unit of sale.

Can a lot be built around a single category?

Yes: lots can be put together to your requirements. Write to us telling us what you want to focus on.

Do I need a VAT number?

Yes. Sales are reserved for businesses and professionals with an Italian or foreign VAT number. LUX LAB does not sell to private consumers.

How do I get the list of available lots?

On request, by writing to marketing@luxlab.it. Availability changes constantly, which is why we do not publish a fixed price list.

LUX LAB buys as an independent global buyer from authorised retailers and official outlets and is not affiliated with the brands it handles, whose names are used only to describe the goods.
